is india safe? what first-time travellers should know.

if you've never been to india before, there's a good chance you've wondered:

is india safe?

it's one of the questions i hear most often.

and honestly, i think it's a really good question.

india is a huge country.

it's busy.

it's unfamiliar.

there are different cultural norms, different ways of doing things and plenty of situations that might feel completely outside your usual experience.

but unfamiliar doesn't automatically mean unsafe.

and you don't have to navigate it alone.

india can be alot

i won't pretend india isn't overwhelming at times.

it can be.

the noise.

the traffic.

the crowds.

the colour.

the scale.

the sheer amount of life happening around you.

but overwhelming and unsupported are two very different things.

that's one of the reasons i created these journeys the way i did.

you’ll have us with you

when you travel with us, reddy and i are there throughout.

from the moment you arrive, you don't have to work out where you're going or how you're getting there.

your airport transfer is organised.

your accommodation is organised.

your transport is organised.

your meals are included.

your experiences and local guides are organised.

and if you have a question, a worry or simply need something along the way?

we've got you.

you don’t have to figure india out

one of the biggest differences between travelling independently and travelling with a hosted group is the amount of mental energy you spend navigating the practical stuff.

where do i go?

how do i get there?

is this the right train?

how do i organise this transfer?

what happens next?

with our journeys, that isn't something you need to carry.

once you arrive, the on-ground logistics are taken care of.

that means you get to focus on actually experiencing india.

what about travelling alone?

you absolutely can.

many of our guests travel with us on their own.

you don't need to arrive already knowing someone.

the group is small, with just 12 guests, and your own private room is included throughout.

you'll have your own space when you want it, while still having people around to share the experience with.

there are still things you need to do

being hosted doesn't mean you don't have any responsibility for your own travel.

you'll still need to arrange your international flights, indian visa and travel insurance.

travel insurance is required for our journeys.

we'll guide you through what you need to know before you go so you're not left trying to work it all out yourself.

so, is india safe?

like anywhere in the world, sensible travel practices matter.

listen to your guides.

follow local advice.

look after your belongings.

stay aware of your surroundings.

and ask questions if you're unsure.

but don't let the fact that india is unfamiliar stop you from experiencing it.

some of the most rewarding places in the world are also the places that ask us to step outside what we already know.

and that's exactly why i love them.

if you've been thinking about india but have been holding back because you're not sure how you'd navigate it, that's exactly what these journeys are designed to help with.

you don't have to figure india out on your own.

you just have to decide to come.
