there is a version of india that doesn't announce itself.
it lives in the quiet hour before a temple opens. in the way a fisherman reads the water at dawn. in a meal prepared by hands that have made the same dish for forty years. in the particular stillness that settles over the backwaters at dusk when the birds go quiet and something in you - without warning, without explanation - shifts.
this is the india we are going to find together.
not the highlights reel. the real one. the one that moves slowly, asks questions it doesn't answer, and has a way of showing you something about yourself you weren't expecting to find.
if you've felt a pull toward india - a curiosity you couldn't quite name, a sense that there is a different way of moving through the world - this journey was made for you.

fifteen days. many extraordinary places. one continuous unfolding.
we begin in fort kochi, where colonial history and kerala culture layer quietly over one another. we move to the mirror-still backwaters of kumarakom and spend a night on a private houseboat drifting through waterways that feel untouched by time. we travel inland to the spice forests of thekkady, where the air itself carries centuries of trade history, and where an evening cooking in a local family's home will stay with you long after you leave.
we spend two days in madurai, one of the world's oldest living cities - its temples humming with daily devotion, its streets holding stories of poet kings and artisans who still shape clay by hand the way their grandparents did.
then mumbai. not through its glamour but through its soul - the pre-dawn fish markets, the extraordinary human choreography of the dabbawala network, the layered humanity of dharavi.
and finally, varanasi. where the ganges holds centuries of prayer and the city asks the biggest questions of all. about life. about impermanence. about what we are really here for.
these are not stops on a route. they are invitations to go deeper than most travellers ever go.

i’m jodi - i’ve been travelling since before i knew what travel was - my dad was a jockey, which meant our family travelled to race meetings in different towns often. by the time i boarded a plane, with backpack in hand, to timor at seventeen, the road already felt like home. i realised the world was far bigger, stranger and more magnificent than anything i’d been told.
and india is where that became personal. it isn’t somewhere i discovered. it’s somewhere i come from. my dad was born in agra - his family home directly across the road from the taj mahal and my grandparents restaurant and a rickshaw business not too far from there.
i grew up with india in my heart before i ever set foot there.
and then, along the way, i discovered the transformations within the journeys - they’re the ones that silently show you something true about yourself.
there is nothing more humbling and exciting to me than sharing these journeys with you.
and bringing them to life with someone equally as passionate is such a blessing for me - and for our guests.
reddy, indian born, is one of india’s most extraordinary tour managers, with a depth of cultural knowledge, logistical brilliance and human warmth that will quietly change how you see this place. he has guided at the highest levels, speaks several languages fluently and has an ability to open doors into communities, conversations and experiences that most travelers never find.
india uncovered is a collaboration.
together, reddy and i research, plan and shape every element of this experience - from the sequence of places to the most unexpected, human moments in between. together we hold every detail so that you can do the one thing that matters.
simply be in it.
this journey is for the open hearted, the genuinely curious and those ready to discover that more can sometimes be found in having less.
